Energy: Vice President (Talks)

Hi, I am T-Yan, a 2nd Year Materials with Nuclear Engineering student. I have been always been passionate about clean energy and would live to have the opportunity to promote innovative and sustainable energy solutions through the Energy Society.

I have previously been involved in Energy Society's Hydrogen Pricing Model Project and it was an enlightening experience. I have had a lot of experience in outreach and events planning, having secured multiple sponsors and organised large scale events in my past committee roles. Those skills will serve me well in this position and enable me to foster valuable partnerships for Energy Society, while identifying interesting topics of interests to bring to the masses.

As Vice-President (Talks), I seek to:

  • Expand our network of industry professionals and academic speakers.

  • Connect students with niche and emerging topics in the energy sector.

  • Organise engaging talks and panels with effective marketing to maximise attendance.

  • Develop more networking and career events to help students explore diverse opportunities in energy.

I hope to be able to bring in more peope to the Energy Society and interest them in the energy industry, challenging common misconceptions and building a more robust community.
