RSMU: Outreach Officer
Dear Royal Miners,
My name is Alice and I am a rising second year materials student. I really enjoy talking with others and learning more about them and their experiences, which has driven me to become an academic rep this year as well as a materials ambassador.
As outreach officer, I want to work with the RSMU committee to make sure outreach isn't just an afterthought.
As outreach officer, I will collaborate with the Events offcier to strengthen ties between students and the RSMU, ensuring communication between you and your constituent union to adapt events to your interest and career aspirations. With the Events and Sponsorship offciers, I'd love to organize more opportunities for students to meet with professionals from industries relevant to our degrees.
In this position, I'd also like to inspire the younger generation, possible future royal miners, by organizing outreach events to local schools, to encourage younger students to be passionate about science and engineering (with a an emphasis on matirials and ESE of course!).
