Assalaamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
Alhamdulillah, I’m excited to apply for the role of Medical Outreach Officer for Muslim Medics 2025. Having been part of the Believe and Do Good (BADG) subcommittee and actively involved in ISoc for the past two years, I’ve seen first-hand the impact of community-focused work. This feels like the natural next step, and I’m keen to build on what’s already been done, while bringing in fresh ideas for the year ahead, inshaAllah.
Working on BADG showed me how valuable outreach is - not just for those we help, but for our own development too. Whether it’s supporting vulnerable communities or tackling health-related stigma, these initiatives reflect the prophetic value of service. Muslim Medics brings together Islamic values and medicine, and that’s something I want to take further.
This role combines two things I care about: serving the community and delivering meaningful projects. My time on BADG taught me the logistics, communication and teamwork needed. Alongside this, my ISoc role as Events Officer, planning Fresher’s Fortnight and Shake Break - helped me build strong skills in planning, risk assessment, and managing volunteers.
I’d love to:
-
Expand mosque outreach through a “Health Ambassadors” network.
-
Launch a mentorship scheme linking alumni with students.
-
Start a “Public Health in Islam” series covering mental health, lifestyle disease, and more.
-
Strengthen partnerships with ISoc and BIMA.
I hope to bring a balance of passion, professionalism and purpose to this role. May Allah SWT accept from us all. Ameen.
JazaakumAllahu khairan.
Waalaikumussalaam warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
