Muslim Medics: Wellbeing Officer
I would like to be a part of MM because of the incredible sense of community it's provided me during my first year of university. Muslim Medics has allowed me to join a wonderful sisterhood that has helped me grow and keep hold of my faith while I began to settle into university life, and for that I would love to give back to the community and help provide someone the same comfort it gave me.
Specifically, I'd like to apply for well-being officer because I'm passionate about ensuring that everyone feels welcomed and supported throughout medical school. Studying medicine is hard enough as it is but can be made ten times harder if you go through it alone. As welfare officer I'd want to create an environment that my peers feel encouraged and comfortable enough to reach out if they are ever struggling. I believe that my approachable personality would really help me to build this relationship with our members, hopefully allowing them to truly feel a part of our society.
I believe that I'd be a good fit for this role as I am passionate about taking care of my peers and hope to create a supportive and inclusive environment for everyone. I also recognise that wellbeing isn’t a one-size-fits-all and for that reason I hope to offer a range of events to reflect the diverse needs of our community.
Overall, I'd love to be part of the Muslim Medics team and help create a welcoming and positive space for everyone.
