Benjamin Sanaullah
I would like to join Muslim Medics due to their unyielding resolve to improve Imperial’s medical students experience in numerous ways (I have been part of multiple PotMed MMIs as well as attending tutorials), and I pray I can also impart some benefits on this community.
Being Year 1 Coordinator would be, for me, the epitome of my interests of medicine, academia and helping others. I have been inspired a lot by the works of older years; their dedication, advice, rigour and commitment is now something I would also l like to exhibit, and thus, I have decided I would like to commit to this role.
I have reflected on what this role may entail; a lot of Team’s meetings to organise, networking with fellow students in producing tutorials and engaging with the queries of the new students. From one point of view, it may appear demanding, a lot of time needed and hours put – but I would like to see this as a test of my own discipline, as well learning new skills.
I think I am suitable for this position as I have consistently engaged with a lot of tutorials, volunteered for PotMed MMIs, gave a lecture to 300 students for Imperial Vision MMI, and engaged with many different societies notably in Infectious Disease Society, Nutritank, Surgical Society, and much more.
Overall, I have enjoyed joining Muslim Medic tutorials and host of numerous events, and my gratitude for these teaching events has pushed me towards applying for this role.
