Iqra Dafedar
Having run online UCAT tutorials in my sixth form for prospective medical students, curating PowerPoints for my tutees, and expressing creativity as seen in my role as COAG co-head for BADG, I believe I’ll be able to do justice to this role and be able to bring a lot of new ideas forward, especially those which ease the stress and transition of the new year 1 students.
Having recently been a year 1 student I’m able to know what resources and advice coming students might need and this role will give me a medium by which I can give and create resources for exams such as PoM, which many still require additional support on.
During this role I aim to:
- find high quality tutors to deliver concise tutorials to the new year 1 students
- advertise and create mock exam questions on difficult subjects such as PoM
- help on creating useful material in other streams, such as interview guides for PotMed
- collaborate with the wellbeing stream to do mental health management and other targeted workshops
Being in Muslim Medics I hope to help out and participate in other streams such as the PotMed stream, helping in doing rewarding and beneficial stuff for more then just year 1 students on which my role would be concentrated on.
Being able to do all this, whilst improving and maintaining my faith by the constant Islamic remainders, events and collaborations the society does in Ramadan etc. is why I am keen to join Muslim Medics.
