Muslim Medics: Year 3 & 4 Coordinator

I have benefitted greatly over this past academic year from the many clinical skills teaching sessions and academic tutorials run by Muslim Medics. I am committed to building upon the systems currently in place to support third- and fourth-year students, and to implementing new, engaging initiatives.

Year 3 Clinical Skills Teaching (CST): These sessions were an excellent opportunity for me to practice clinical skills for both OSCEs and placements. My aim as third- and fourth-year coordinator, in sha Allah, will be to continue these sessions in a similar format and to introduce history-taking workshops, which are a key component of OSCEs but are often difficult to practice.

BSc Information Session for Third Years: Having recently navigated the BSc application process, I understand how challenging it can be to choose between different options. My aim in sha Allah is to host a tutorial where current students can share insights into their BSc experiences. This would empower third years to make more informed and confident decisions.

BSc and Beyond Webinars: This webinar provided crucial support for BSc students in their in-course assessments and laid the groundwork for their final-year projects. My goal, in sha Allah, is to expand this initiative by offering the sessions more frequently and maintaining a high calibre of speakers to help students.

The propositions above, along with building upon the valuable work of previous coordinators—both mentioned and unmentioned—will allow me to strengthen the support Muslim Medics offers to third- and fourth-year students in sha Allah
