Biochemistry: Sponsorship Officer

Hey everyone! I’m Gerald, a first-year Biochemistry student, and I’m running for the role of Sponsorship Officer.

Starting university was a big adjustment, everything felt new and unfamiliar. But joining this society made the transition so much easier. Through its amazing events, I was able to meet people with shared interests and truly feel a sense of belonging. That’s why I want to give back by helping the society grow even more.

Sponsorships aren’t just about funding, they’re about creating opportunities. Behind every successful event is not just strong planning, but reliable support. As Sponsorship Officer, I’ll be proactive in reaching out to companies that align with our goals. From top biotech and pharmaceutical firms to lab suppliers and innovative science start-ups, these partnerships won’t just fund our events, they’ll build valuable connections that can benefit our members in their academic and professional journeys.

On top of that, I’d love to explore creative fundraising events to boost our budget and reduce costs for everyone. This would allow us to run more affordable, high-impact events like career panels with industry experts, hands-on workshops, and social mixers that bring our community even closer.

If elected, I’ll work hard to secure the support we need to make your ideas a reality!
