Anton Pustygin
Clearly, this role has dual purpose: alumni officer and theta bearer.
Now allow us to admire the theta in it's full glory: θ. Isn't it beautiful? We see it on a regular basis, whether it's because you're measuring angles or simply reading Greek. And much like this role, this beautiful letter is split into two. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be. I intend to draw inspiration from this magnificent glyph and promise you my equally balanced dedication to the two sides of this role – establishing connections with alumni and bearing the theta responsibly.
Of course, the RCSU theta is no majestic member of the Greek alphabet – it is indeed a real, physical (and I must say, massive) thermometer which happens to be an RCSU mascot. As the risk of it being stolen must never be underestimated, I will take gentle and tender care of this scientific instrument and make sure engineers keep their pesky hands away from it.
In the meanwhile, I intend to keep good contact with RCSU alumni, this of course including the RCSA and making sure the students of the past, the present and the future perfect continuous are well-connected and have many wonderful networking opportunities.
