RCSU: Deputy Broadsheet Editor

The revival of Broadsheet this year was brilliant—unexpected, but brilliant.

Science plays a vital role in our everyday lives, especially as students of the Royal College of Science.

But outside of lectures, labs, seminars, and tutorials, it can fade into the background.

Not because it lacks relevance—but because it’s too often glossed over.

Broadsheet bridges a gap— it explores how complex scientific ideas interplay with society and the arts. Highlighting the relevance of the groundbreaking research we experience here at Imperial with our lives outside, could potentially allow us to connect the material we learn to way that we live.

Broadsheet brings science back into focus, and that’s why I’m eager to contribute to next year’s edition.

Over the past three years, I’ve gained valuable writing experience through Imperial’s Horizons and I-Explore modules. I’ve also written for publications, and as a result I'm familiar with the editorial process, tight turnarounds, and the revisions involved in preparing work for publication.

I’m excited to bring this experience to Broadsheet and hopefully help bring out a lovely edition next year!
