TeddyBear Hospital: Web Officer

I’m back….

After four years with TBH, I believe I have the skills required to return again as Web Officer. A good website must be both informative and aesthetically pleasing. As School Liaison Officer for two years, I have communicated closely with the presidents and committee to organise visits, and ensure information is passed on to the volunteers. I gained experience in sifting through details to find the important messages that are most relevant to our participants, which I would then be able to display on our website. This flair for organisation and planning could also be applied to adding information to the ICU calendar, and I would get satisfaction from showcasing our activities. Regarding design, I was able to indulge my creative streak in my second year when running a team of the subcommittee; by coming up with new ideas at the beginning of the year, we achieved some great new stations, and I also was able to suggest the designs for the tiny teddy bears which I negotiated with an independent maker. Photography skills from my school days may also prove useful, for assisting the Publicity Officer. Other external creative endeavours involve my entries for Neuroscience society’s art competitions, and an arts module in year 3. While the website is already a pleasing blue-scheme, I would be ready to add new features in conjunction with the Presidents’ and Publicity Officer’s suggestions. (And being bold, I may do away with the Comic Sans script.)

Many thanks for your consideration!
