Sara Procacci

Hi everyone,

My name is Sara and I’m a second year Biological Sciences student. I’ve been a writer for IBR for the past two years, and I’ve enjoyed and benefited from the experience immensely. I’d like to become chair to maintain and improve the society so that new and current writers can get as much from it as I have. If elected as chair, here would be some of my commitments:

• Workshops, particularly at the start of the year, to support new and experienced writers.

Topics on researching and academic/ review writing.

• Consistent uploads, possibility of printed editions.

Articles published on a weekly basis during term time. If output is sufficient, we can also print termly IBR issues as in previous years.

• Talks into SciComm and scientific paper writing.

For exposure and a look into science communication careers or writing in research.

• Communication with writers and editors to keep improving the society.

Constant communication with writers and editors, also anonymous feedback forms to keep improving the society.

My experiences as a PASS tutor and coordination skills in having organised several fundraising events, such as a school-wide Charity walk raising funds for the Red Cross in 2023, have provided me with skills that would help me as chair, and my motivation to keep supporting this society for all its members.
