Cricket: Vice President

This season, I’ve played 16 games across all the men’s squads—1s, 2s, 3s, and Club XI—and probably scored about the same number of runs. Safe to say, I’ve spent more time at Harlington and Biryani Hub than in lectures. Serious badgering.

As 2s captain, I’ve been a core committee member—managing last-minute dropouts, navigating Play-Cricket chaos, all while being on placement. Through this, I’ve gained a solid understanding of every committee role, built strong friendships, and know exactly how to support everyone—including taking some weight off the president’s shoulders.

I’ve already worked closely with Mithun as captain and vice-captain respectively, and I’d love the chance to keep that going by stepping into the VP role next year.

Having played for Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire at age group level, I understand what’s needed to support high-performing players in the 1s—but I’ve also spent plenty of time with the 3s, Club XI, and beginners, helping them settle in and enjoy their cricket. Whatever level you're at, I want to make sure you feel part of the club and have the chance to develop, compete, and have a laugh.

IC Cricket has been such a huge part of my uni life, and I’m keen to see all squads thrive—men’s and women’s—while making sure every member feels involved and included.

I’m not promising centuries every week (you’ve seen my average), but I do promise energy, organisation, and commitment to the club.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the AGM tomorrow.

UTIC,
Rohan
