Nimah Hoque

Hello all!

My name is Nimah Hoque, a 2nd year Medical Biosciences (BMB) student, and I'm running to be your Year 1 Lead. With a razor-sharp focus on your growth and enjoyment throughout year 1, I'll be sure to optimise what this society can offer you.

Attending a neuroscience conference expecting discussion of solely neuroscience, then being surprised to hear about immunology, INTS, biotechnology and more, reminded me about the multi-faceted nature of this course. Also having discovered my research interest following this event, I realised the well-rounded nature of BMB and the importance of opportunities like this that bridge the gap between the course and passion beyond. I will strive to enrich your biomed experience, facilitating your academic life and your enter into year 2 with confidence, ease and reassurance that your journey is well-cushioned.

I have experience of communication and liaising through my role as Events Organiser on the BiomEd subcommittee, as well as externally, such as in tutoring. Combined with my pleasant rapport with peers, I can utilise my network to provide fantastic opportunities for key insights, making a difference in your journey. Plus, I'm always open to suggestions and down to have a chat :)
