Hi, I’m Rosi, a first-year Biochemistry student, interested especially into neuroscience and biomarker reserach for diagnosis of cognitve disorders:) When I attended the Neurotech Symposium last autumn, I was impressed by the event’s balance of informative scientitic presentations and personal conversation with teh guests. I would love to become Neurotech Events Officer to continue this inspiring spirit and connect passionate people in the field.
I have lots of experience in team coordination and event management. In my final year of Sixth Form, I organized a Genome Editing Summit, inviting a researcher from a pharmaceutical company and leading a panel discussion on ethical implications with students from diverse backgrounds. I also founded and led a school delegation to the European Youth Parliament, developing public speaking and leadership skills.
I enjoy bringing people together and consider myself as inclusive abd welcoming and cultivate a team spirit where all opinions are heard. I am curious to get to know people and I am very proactive when it comes to building new relationships. As a committee member of Imperial Entrepreneurship Society, I also explore the business side of science and aim to link societies for larger, interdisciplinary events.
As Events Officer, I want to continue running flagship events like the Neurotech Symposium, with focused themes that explore different perspectives. I also plan to introduce more interactive events—journal discussions, networking dinners with researchers and startups, and skill-building workshops in leadership or machine learning—to give the society as sense of community.
