Gitali Kulkarni
Hi everyone, I’m Gitali! I’m currently a second-year biomedical engineering student and I’m so excited to be standing for academic rep this year.
I’m committed to empowering student voices and shaping a department built on support, innovation, and growth. Like many of you, I’m adjusting to the step up from first to second year, and I understand how overwhelming that transition can feel. That’s why I’m passionate about creating a more supportive and transparent academic environment, where student voices are genuinely heard and acted on.
As your academic rep, I will be determined to:
- Push for structured revision support before exam periods including departmental workshops and peer-led revision events
- Organize cross-year coffee chats/Q +A’s to give and receive advice
- Introduce regular mid-module feedback/surveys so issues can be raised and addressed immediately
- Advocate for more engaging study groups by including short concept refreshers alongside problem-solving to make sessions more focused and accessible for everyone
If elected as your Academic Rep, I’ll work collaboratively with students and lecturers to drive meaningful, real-time changes that improve our experience. I want to make sure everyone feels supported, heard, and part of a stronger Bioengineering community!
