Materials (UG): Year Two Academic Representative
Hi, I'd love the chance to continue as your academic rep this year!
Over the past year, I’ve really enjoyed representing our year group and making sure your voices are heard. With the other year reps, we successfully fought for more resources, securing four past papers instead of two. For our cohort specifically, I worked closely with Wendy to achieve some tangible changes:

Extra support by securing additional maths office hours in Term 1.

Higher teaching quality by reporting issues and pushing for GTA training (they are completely changing how they are allocating GTAs for Y1 now!)

Fairer workload by negotiating deadline changes and adjustments for labs in Term 3.
These are just a few of the many things we worked on.
My main goal has always been to make sure we get real value from our degree; that the teaching, resources, and support reflect the effort and money we put into our studies. I will continue advocating for high standards and practical improvements that make a real difference.
Like last year, I’ll also keep you updated through WhatsApp and email so you always know what's going on.
I want to continue building on what we’ve started: pushing for clear communication from staff, ensuring fair access to support across modules, and working with academics to make our learning experience as smooth and positive as possible. I will fight for us to get model answers, mark schemes and exam scripts. I'll keep making sure your concerns are heard and acted on.
