Nadya Ghani

Postgraduate Taught Academic & Welfare Officer (Natural Sciences)

Hi!

I'm Nadya, an MSc student on the Environmental Technology program, and I'm running to be this year's AWO for the Faculty of Natural Sciences!

I always describe myself as a "people person", which is one of the reasons I think I'd be great for this role: I'm approachable, empathetic and always willing to help.

I will take any raised academic or welfare issue very seriously, working closely with all the department reps to ensure that each and every PGT student within the FoNS feels seen and heard during their degree. With Masters degrees only being one year long, timeliness is a crucial requirement, so I will strive for speedy answers or actions on behalf of the Faculty on any raised issue.

Having been a full-time Welfare (and Sustainability) Officer last year at my previous university, I spent the year representing students, talking to university leaders and ensuring students' welfare was still a priority during turbulent financial times. I have the experience and skills required to do this job, and would love to be given the chance to use them to make students in the FoNS have the best uni experience.

So please vote Nadya for FoNS' AWO! :)
