Hi everyone, I'm James and I'm running to be your wellbeing representative this year. Studying here at imperial can be stressful at times, and I want to make sure that everyone feels supported, listened to, and valued here.
As a Peer Support Lead in my high school, I was given the opportunity to look after the welfare of my peers and support them when needed. I was also trained to listen with empathy and to offer guidance when appropriate. I've worked on projects aimed at improving the integration process for new students, which has shown me how important community and connection are to our wellbeing.
If elected, I will aim to:
- Ensure every student knows where to go for help when needed
- Listen actively and confidentially to anyone who needs someone to talk to
- Create a wellbeing website/board where students can share positive thoughts, experiences, or words of encouragements
- Open an anonymous feedback form for wellbeing issues, ensuring quieter students can also share their concerns safely
Thank you for reading my manifesto, and even if you're voting for someone else, please remember that I'm always happy to help.
