Hello everyone! My name is Irede and I am running for the Wellbeing Representative role for the Year One Computing Cohort.
I believe to make the most of our first year we need to be well-supported and ensure that, between the busy deadlines and study sessions, we have the space to relax, socialise and talk freely about any issues we are experiencing to resolve them as quickly as possible. I know for me, having a supportive community of both staff and students during school enabled me to study and live my truth without burning out, and I wish to provide that same experience to the students here.
Through this role I seek to:
1. Provide a safe space for all Computing students to reach out for support; including strengthening the wellbeing spaces that are currently available
2. Work towards creating more lively recreational areas and activities within the Computing community
3. Create more opportunities for students to learn about managing finances, health & relationships, personal safety and more that fits well with our Computing timetable
