Hi everyone! Over the past year I’ve loved getting to know so many of you so, I’d like the opportunity to be your wellbeing rep for DE2. Uni can get overwhelming, and we all handle stress differently. My goal is to help make DE2 feel more supported, connected and comfortable throughout the year. As your wellbeing rep, I aim to be an approachable friend that you can always talk to whether that be in person or over text, (I’m a fast replier!), or just someone to point you in the right direction if you need help.
Here are my main focuses as wellbeing rep:
- More events spread across all three terms, so you can de-stress and spend time with friends after intense deadlines
- Collaborating with the academic rep and relevant professors to ensure workload is manageable especially leading up to end of term.
- Catering the system for you. This is about your wellbeing so I’m open to ideas and feedback throughout the year using in person and online platforms to reach out.
The close bond between DE2 is unique and special and I want to make sure everyone enjoy’s themselves this year. I have experience organising such events as in year 13 I was Head of Peer Support where I helped create a space for people to feel heard not just when things went wrong, but in the in-between moments too. That experience helped me grow my empathy, sensitivity, and communication, which I’ll bring to this role.
