Bioengineering (UG): Year Four Academic Representative (Computational Stream)

Hi everyone!

I’m Lucia, a final-year Biomedical Engineering student on the Computational Pathway, and I’m running to be your Year 4 Bioengineering Academic Representative (Computational Stream).

During my time at Imperial, I’ve really enjoyed being part of this department. Now, I’m eager to advocate for improvements that can make our experience even better. As your representative, I want to ensure that every student feels supported, both academically and socially, throughout their time here.

My Priorities:

  • Encourage module leaders to provide a syllabus with learning objectives.
  • Past paper review lectures, where lecturers walk through example answers and marking approaches to make exam expectations clearer.
  • Dedicated open feedback sessions with module leaders, especially after term-time tests, to help everyone better understand marking rubrics and prepare more confidently for final exams.
  • Clearer distinction between examinable content and supplementary material.
  • Faster feedback on assignments and exams so we can learn and improve quicker.
  • Clearer guidelines and moderation to make peer assessment fairer.
  • Regular drop-in sessions (coffee chats) with the academic reps, giving students an informal space to share feedback, ask questions and connect with peers.

I’m excited to bring your ideas forward and make real improvements that matter to us as students. Whether it’s sharing feedback, chatting over coffee, or finding ways to make coursework smoother, I’m here to listen and help.

Thank you for your support,

Lucia 😊
