Electrical & Electronic Engineering (PG): MSc Applied Machine Learning

Dear MSc AML Classmates,

My name is Yash, and I’m standing to be our MSc AML course rep because I care about making our one-year experience smoother and more useful for everyone. There’s a good chance we’ve already met or talked at least once. You might remember me as an outgoing and bold person. I’ll bring that same energy when representing our course in the EEE department and raising any concerns on your behalf.

My plans:

  1. Collect feedback monthly via a 1-minute anonymous form.
  2. Hear everyone equally: I’ll hold a short 15-minute open slot each month. I’m always available for a chat in-person or on Teams/WhatsApp.
  3. Respond promptly: I’ll acknowledge all messages within 1 hour and update you on progress within 24 hours. I already manage our WhatsApp group, and I’ll use it responsibly to share updates and collect concerns, while keeping it a safe space.
  4. Push for clarity: I’ll work with module leaders to request clearer assessment rubrics and deadlines.
  5. Resolve logistics: I’ll flag timetable clashes, exam/assessment overlaps, or resource shortfalls to the EEE office. I’m already getting in touch with the EEE office, so there is no clash between the popular Spring modules.
  6. Academic support: I’ll organise peer study groups and a shared resource list (notes, past papers, recorded office hours). I’m in the process of creating a study group between Computing(AI/ML) and Applied ML for ‘ML hardware & system’.
  7. Keep it small-course friendly: For a cohort of ~35, I’ll bring individual concerns to staff rather than generalise.
