Giada Baroni

Hi, my name is Giada, and I am running for the position of Postgraduate Representative for MSc Biomedical Engineering (Neurotechnology) because I am passionate about strengthening communication between students and staff, fostering collaboration across disciplines, and ensuring that every student feels supported both academically and personally. I believe that an open and well-connected academic environment enables everyone to reach their full potential and makes our experience at Imperial even more rewarding.

During my undergraduate degree I was a student representative, which allowed me to gain first-hand experience in collecting and communicating feedback, representing diverse student perspectives, and working closely with lecturers to implement positive changes. Alongside this, I led outreach and research initiatives within engineering and biotechnology, which helped me develop strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills. These experiences taught me how to listen carefully, identify key issues, and translate ideas into practical solutions, qualities that I believe make me a strong candidate for this role.

If elected, I will prioritise improving communication between students, lecturers, and departmental staff to ensure feedback leads to visible outcomes. My goal is to make our cohort feel connected, supported, and empowered throughout our MSc journey :)
