Tanisa Tyeba
Medical Education: Secretary
Hi everyone! My name is Tanisa and I would love to be your next MedEd secretary. :)
The role that MedEd has had so far in my journey as a medical student has been invaluable. I am keen to give back to something that has been so useful for me. I am very excited to be a part of this society and hope to build my skills even further as Secretary!
Taking on many responsibilities in the past, I have built valuable skills which I believe will make me the best person for this role.
- As Deputy Head Girl, I acted as the liaison between the staff and the students, organising regular meetings every week to ensure that concerns about exams during COVID-19 were listened to and addressed.
- As Well-being Head in sixth form, I often organised events to highlight the importance of looking after mental health whilst balancing the demands of exams and studies.
- I am a volunteer for the Doctor’s Hardship Fund and during the COVID-19 pandemic, I was a key member of the team where I was involved in organising several in-person and online fundraising events that enabled us to raise £10,000 for frontline staff.
- Tutoring during medical school has taught me important time management and prioritisation skills.
With my enthusiasm and dedication, I believe that I can help to deliver the society's events as smoothly as possible to ensure all students can make the most out of what MedEd has to offer!
Thank you :)
