Zijun Chen
Physics: Treasurer
My name is Zijun Chen and I am a second-year student. The following is a list of things I stand for and how they would be reached.
- Transparency:
As members of the community, all of us have a right to know the revenues and the spending of the committee and be able to voice suggestions based on that data as revenues are generally collected in events that a lot of members participate in or products we buy. This can be achieved through monthly balance reports. - Fairness:
As a department-based society, the main job should be to bring students together and generate more opportunities for us all instead of making a profit. Hence, I wish to make all events as cheap as the budget can possibly afford by finding alternatives until the one with the highest quality-to-price ratio is found. - Efficiency:
I usually work 7 days a week, so I am confident that everything will be done in a timely fashion. - Correctness:
One of the most important things for a treasurer is probably to make all numbers and figures correct at all times. And if I elected, I will double check everything to make sure they are correct. - Involved with the community:
As mentioned earlier, physoc is a society formed to help us in the physics community, I will listen to everyone and check all emails daily. Then advise the committee according to the opinions I receive.
