Hi everyone! I’m Beth, a first year medic and I’m running for president of Mauritian Soc!
I was born in the UK but lived in Mauritius for part of my childhood. Whether you are native Mauritian, British Mauritian or just curious about our extremely vibrant and diverse culture, I hope you will join me in cultivating the Mauritian experience at Imperial!
As president, my policies would be:
Collaboration: collaborate with my committee members to ensure they feel supported and updated when carrying out their roles.
My main implementation as president would be to collaborate with other london Mauritian societies given that our society is rather small. This means planning events such as exploring London’s Mauritian restaurants or an annual Mauritian sports day so that Mauritians across london can stay connected.
Consistency: I promise to make Mauritian Soc an active community throughout the year so that our members are provided many opportunities to meet and connect. One of the ways that I will act on this is to introduce events to celebrate Independence Day and other significant religious or cultural holidays within our Soc.
Community: as mentioned before, everyone is connected to Mauritius in so many different ways so I aim to make everyone feel that they are welcomed to deliver a sense of community amongst all our members and build up our Mauritian family!
Thank you for reading my manifesto! I hope I can earn your vote!
