Yan Cheng Poh

Hi everyone, I am Yan Cheng, a year 1 Biology student.

I am running to be the next Sports Officer for Imperial Singapore Society. For the last few months, Singsoc has truly been a home away from home for me in London. I thoroughly enjoyed being able to play sports and meeting fellow Singaporeans studying not just at Imperial but also in London. Many of you may have met me before at regular football sessions or badminton sessions. Furthermore, I believe that sports is not just an outlet for fun and relaxation but also an opportunity to forge lifelong friendships. Hence, I would like to give back to this community by running for Sports Officer to further improve the sports community here and continue the good work that the previous Sports Officers have done.

I believe that as an active participant in several sports of Play@ICSS, organising my own weekly 5-a-side football session with fellow Imperial students and being an active sportsperson through life, I possess the necessary experience, skills and most importantly, passion for sports to make me well suited to be the next Sports Officer.

If elected as Sports Officer, I will strive to create and foster a fun, inclusive and welcoming atmosphere for everyone and all sports in ICSS.
