Hi, ChemEng-ers! I'm Shreya, and I would love to be one of your Events Officers for ChemEngSoc next year. I'm here to make sure that we're more than just glorified plumbers! I intend to put a strong emphasis on events that foster an inclusive community in the department with the classics like pub crawls and movie nights, along with other stress-relievers like bouldering and ping pong (starting Frank Morton prep early 🔥).

Furthermore, I want to introduce more events that encourage ChemEng families to get together, such as board game nights and bake-offs. Of course, these wouldn't be limited to those with department families - anyone can join! Along with IR officers and the committee, I aim to continue to provide career-oriented and educational events and to collaborate with other ChemEng departments in London for hackathons and career fairs. I also believe all your voices should be heard, so I will be open to any suggestions for events you guys would like to see!

In the past, I've organised events with up to 400 participants, ranging from charity runs and video game tournaments to model UN conferences and prom. I've even organised gatherings where I managed to get the whole friend group out 🙏. As a result, I understand how to manage the underlying logistics involved in event planning and how to create realistic goals and timelines.
