Michelle Wang
Hello, my name is Michelle. It would be a privilege to be considered for the role of Secretary in the Oncology society.
During my gap year and academic journey, I have cultivated a diverse array of experiences and skills that I believe make me well-suited for this role. These includes proficiency in clear and effective communication, working collaboratively with members of the team, strong time-management abilities, organisational skills and decision-making. I am confident that these qualities will lay a good foundation for the role. I have a clear understanding of the responsibilities associated with the Secretary role and the tasks that I need to do such as organising appropriate meeting times and locations, keeping meeting minutes and facilitating communication within the society.
Although my exposure and experiences are limited in oncology, the nature of the speciality still draws a strong interest because of the scientific innovation, compassionate patient care, interdisciplinary collaboration and continuous advancements in research. This drives me to help run the society and arrange events because I’m sure there are many who are as interested and enthusiastic to learn more about the specialty.
Thank you for reading my manifesto.
