Devina Chokshi

Hello!

My name is Devina, I’m a second-year Biotechnology student and I’m excited to be running for secretary of SynBIC.

As secretary, I want to work closely with the Events Officers to organise social events, such as seminars and workshops. I think it’s important to build connections with companies and startups in industry, so that we can create opportunities for members interested in research.

I would also like to continue to promote SynBIC on social media platforms so that we can increase engagement as well as build teams for the competitions that we are involved in (iGEM and BIOMOD)! I also think that we can start to participate in more competitions such as iDEC (which we did in 2021) and other student-led projects.

In general, I would love to focus on building and maintaining a sense of community among the committee and members of the society!
