Tejas Bantupalli
Andariki Namaskaram 🙏!
My name is Tejas, and I am a First-Year JMC. I am an International student from Hyderabad (although I was originally born in Kakinada (shoutout to all the Godarollu out there))!
I believe that Telugu society will thrive not only if it makes the Telugus within feel at home, but also if it is welcoming to non-Telugus who want to learn more about our culture. As the Treasurer of Telugu society, I plan on promoting inclusion, with diversity. I therefore:
1. Plan on organising more collaborations with other societies to expand our network and show everybody what us Telugus are made of!
2. Hope to arrange for more movie events, Telugu music/clubbing nights, and also organise events for festivals that are especially authentic to our Telugu culture (such as Sankranti, Ugadi, and Dasara, to name a few).
3. Koni rojulu ayithe bojjanalu kuda organise cheddam! (As an International student I personally crave food that is close to Telugu cuisine (both veg and non-veg)). Thus I therefore will strive to organise more events with authentic Telugu food (and perhaps sweets as well)!
TeluguSoc is not just a society, but a family, and we must treat everybody within as such. I hope that this manifesto allows you to understand that I care deeply about my fellow TeluguSoc members (both Telugu and non-Telugu), as well as promoting our Telugu culture. I will therefore act accordingly if elected!
