Louis Cronin

Hi everyone, my name is Louis Cronin and I’m a first year Geophysics Msci student running to be your sponsorship officer.

The reasons I am running for this position are:

-This is a way for me to give back to the RSM union who have made me feel welcome and at home over the first 9 months of my time at ICL. I would look to repay this hospitality through my commitment to getting the best for the union.

-I am excited to help fund all the amazing projects and opportunities I know the department puts on and I hope that with my help more of these can be backed by greater financial resources.

The relevant experience to this position is the acquisition of a sponsor for my secondary school/high school’s football team which aided us to buy the kits we needed for the upcoming season. As we were the only team in our school to have secured a sponsor, I was key in communicating this to the players students and staff and cementing a more familiar relationship between the team and the sponsor (a local business).

What I would look to achieve would be to continue the work of my predecessors in maintaining our relationships with industry sponsors and given ICLs updated world ranking I would look to capitalise on this and attract more sponsors seeking to support such a world leading cohort.
