Agshaey Nishanthan

Hi guys, I am Agshaey and I would love to be president next year.

During my time at university so far, one of my greatest achievements has been working on Mega Maalai 30. Not only did it teach me the commitment and dedication needed for a role such as this, but it also taught me the value of communication as a team when we all struggled to learn parts of the dance together. This is why I believe I would be a great president.

As a current first year student one of the main issues I noticed with our society was the lack of advertising for a lot of Tsoc or Tamil events especially during freshers. Being someone who didn’t start off with many Tamil friends I found it hard to find ways to find Tamil people because of this lack of knowledge. As president I would like to fix this next year by not only using the freshers chat to advertise our Tsoc events more consistently but to also have other channels where other events can be advertised so that the new first years have an easier access platform to look for Tsoc events which would help improve our community.

One other plan I have is for better collaboration events with other universities. While we have had enjoyable events such as MM, I would like to collaborate with the Heads of events to create clubbing and sober events that students from other universities can attend too.
