Janaki Nakeeran

Having been at Sri Lankan Society for about a year now, I am privileged to have been this year’s Head of Sales and worked with an amazing committee. Everyone here has truly made me feel welcomed and valued, and I am so glad that I can say our society embraces and unites us all under the Sri Lankan identity.

My role as Head of Sales has opened my eyes to the hard work that goes into organising Sapphire, and more specifically revenue generation. I believe this places me in good stead to now deal with the costs of Sapphire, as Vice Chair. Fluctuating sales this year have increased my adaptability under high pressure and willingness to dive into unchartered territory. Throughout the sales period, I have endeavoured to break down the problem of stagnant sales into its core components and target each of these, whether that be introducing different marketing channels or different marketing perspectives. I enjoy formulating and executing logical strategies to problems and am driven by a passion for collaboration, which I would advocate for in the Society.
