Nadia Volkova

I am Nadia Volkova and I am a second year Biochemistry student. I’ve always been interested in a career in Pharmacology but I’ve had my doubts. However the closer it gets to my university graduation, the more I understand that it’ll be the right path for me because I am passionate about helping people and about wet lab research. Here, in the society of Pharmacology, I can also directly help people by being a secretary. I have great communication skills after working in a school and being a tutor, so I can easily manage people and help out with whatever problem arises among the members with the society’s work. I am a reliable, responsible and patient person, so I can be trusted with this role. My interest lies in oncological and cardiovascular pharmacology so I am also ready to share my passion with the members of the society. And, of course, I am looking forward to working with a like-minded committee and gaining knowledge from them and their experience.

As a secretary, i promise to:

• Always send emails on time
• Help the society to broaden its reach. I am a Biochemistry undergraduate, so I am excited to make it more engaging for members of the Department of Life sciences, and not just department of Medicine
• Help the society to collaborate with other Imperial and London universities societies like MedTech, CompBio. Also potentially Teddy Bear hospital society, to create engaging workshops for kids about pharmacy
