I am applying for women’s Club Captain as I feel passionate about our team and the ICUCC; I’ve loved my first year, meeting lots of different people and making friends across other years that I wouldn’t have met otherwise.

With a large proportion of the senior players leaving next year, I would like to continue to increase the subscription of women next season, no matter the range in abilities. This would hopefully allow us to create a second team for the league. I would aim to do this through more promotion and a taster session for our team in the second term, for those who didn’t find something they enjoyed in the first term and didn’t know what other clubs were out there. I would also build on the the Move Her Way campaign by increasing advertisement around campus to reach the widest possible audience.

I would try to involve us in more events, particularly socials. In addition to the current ones, socials between us and other sports teams, which other members of our team are a part of, may encourage more women to get involved outside of playing. I will also bring incredible persuasion skills, telling literally every woman I meet on nights out to join cricket.
