Avantika Arun

Hi everyone!

We are Avantika and Ivana, and we are excited to run as your Co-Chairs next year! We love Teddy Bear Hospital and are committed to continuing the fantastic work of our current chairs and the committee. With three years of combined TBH committee experience, volunteering with TBH has always been the highlight of our week!

As Equipment Officer this year and Sponsorship Officer last year, Avantika has a good understanding of the TBH inventory, our station repertoire and the society’s finances. Ivana, as Innovation Officer, achieved firsts for the society, including collaborations with CardioSoc and NeurodivergentSoc and organising our first SEND school visit. Avantika has experience as Co-Chair for IC FemTech and co-founding ICSM MWF. Ivana, as Community & Outreach Vice Chair for ICSM Paediatrics, refined her time management and multitasking skills to establish external connections.

Our main aim is to foster an inviting atmosphere and maintain volunteer engagement.

For the year ahead, we plan to:

- Host termly social events, starting from Fresher’s Week, including a teddy bear picnic, bowling and dinners;
- Conduct regular visits to SEND schools in West London;
- Work with other societies like DermSoc and ImmunoSoc for specialised sessions, building on our CardioSoc collaboration this year;
- Upgrade TBH merchandise and print TBH stickers for children during visits.

Our members’ needs are our top priority and so we will ensure termly feedback surveys to identify what works well and what needs improvement.
