am excited to announce my candidacy for the position of Events Manager for Women in Business. With a strong background in event planning, marketing, and communication, and a passion for empowering women in business, I am confident in my ability to organise impactful events that will enhance our society's engagement and growth. My previous roles have provided me with the skills and experience necessary to excel in this position and contribute significantly to our community. As the Communications Officer for ChemEng Soc, I successfully organised numerous events, increasing attendance and engagement. My participation in spring weeks at Scotiabank and KPMG has given me valuable insights into the business world and developed my ability to network effectively. Additionally, serving as Vice President for the Finance Society, I worked closely with the executive team to plan and execute successful initiatives, demonstrating my ability to lead and collaborate effectively.
If elected as Events Manager, I will:
- Plan and execute a variety of events, including workshops, guest lectures, networking sessions, and social gatherings, tailored to the interests and needs of our members.
- Ensure events are inclusive and accessible, providing opportunities for all members to participate and benefit.
- Foster a sense of community by organising events that encourage collaboration and networking among members.
- Utilize feedback from members to continuously improve the quality and relevance of our events.
- Organise skill-building workshops and career development sessions to equip members with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed in business.
