Abigail Tan
Hello! I am Abigail/ Yun Hui, and I am running to be Vice President (Publicity) of iPRAS! Some of you saw me running around RCS with the camera and sling bag, taking photos during Reconstructing the Stereotype and Microsurgery conferences. Yes, that’s me!
Having been part of iPRAS subcommittee for the past year, I helped in tasks from procuring conference supplies, refreshments and set up/ cleanup, to ushering and interacting with delegates and demonstrators. This has given me a deeper understanding of the logistics, coordination and flow needed to run conferences. I believe I am equipped to step up and lead more conference preparations as part of iPRAS committee.
Indeed, I learnt that close-ups of neurovascular bundle dissection highlight the essence of microsurgery, and photographing participants utilising VR headsets by Medtronic, can help with sustaining their sponsorship. I look forward to apply such experiences to head the publicity team to create attention-grabbing material for iPRAS. I also hope to incorporate more plastic surgery fun facts in iPRAS instagram posts and newsletters, to increase visibility.
I was previously Vice-President of a nursing home volunteering programme, where I guided volunteers to plan activities catering to specific needs of the elderly. I helped to facilitate committee meetings on the direction and planning of the programme, while liaising and coordinating with volunteers and nursing home staff. These faciliation experiences would prepare me to coordinate the iPRAS publicity team effectively.
I am invigorated to strive to bring iPRAS to greater heights as Vice President (Publicity).
