Neuro: Neurosurgery Lead
As a dedicated and passionate member of Neuroscience society, I am honored to present my manifesto for the position of neurosurgery lead. With a strong interest in neurosurgery, and a commitment to enhancing the interest of others in this field, I am eager to contribute to the society's growth and success.
As neurosurgery lead, some of my main aims would be:
1. Enhancing Professional Development:
-
- I aim to expand our educational programs to provide members with information on the latest advancements and best practices within the field of neurosurgery
- I aim to do this by enhancing upon last year's very successful neuroscience conference by also including talks on techniques and innovations present within neurosurgery as well as neuroscience and neurology
- I also aim to provide many workshops this year to provide future doctors with the skills required to work in the field of neurosurgery
2. Development of new online platforms
-
- I aim to start a new online speaker series, recruiting current neurosurgeons, to provide lectures and talks to younger students on what life as a neurosurgeon would entail.
- I also aim to start a lecture series to help younger years with the content covered in the neurology section of BRS to help with their exams, which would also strengthen member engagement with our society
3. Strengthening Member Engagement:
-
- Establishing mentorship programs with current neurosurgeons to support early-career professionals and foster a sense of community
- Enhancing communication channels to keep members informed and involved in society activities
