Hi Biochemistry Y2! For those of you who don't know me yet, my name is Rhea and I would love to be your academic rep for this coming year. I pride myself in my communication skills, and I think this will be central to my ability to represent us well as a cohort. I am confident in my ability to communicate our concerns with faculty open, solution-oriented discussions.
I'm a super approachable person and you'll always be able to find me on the library's 4th floor. I'll always be open to hearing your concerns or even just chat about how you're doing! My goal is to be able to encourage open dialogue between ourselves and members of faculty.
One thing I would like to improve this year is transparency between representatives and the rest of the cohort. Even though all our requests may not be successful, it is important for us all to understand how conversations went and why the department does or doesn't agree with certain requests. I commit myself to making sure that the Biochemistry U2 group chat a more active space, with messages from the department, discussions about you’re concerns, and reminders of important events/deadlines.
I absolutely value a supportive academic environment. Biochemistry is hard work! However, I am committed to ensuring you have access to everything you need to succeed this year.
