Medicine (UG): Biomedical Science - Year One Academic Representative

Hi BMB, my name is Hong-Anh (or you can call me Ann).

Being a first-year myself, I understand everyone wants to be able to understand the content of the modules and to perform well. However, it is challenging to adjust to the large amount of change in the start. I want to use this opportunity to advocate for any issues that the cohort is going through, as well as provide academic support to anyone in need.

I am a very observant and detail-orientated person. I can use these skills to realise the cohort's concerns and communicate your needs with the department. As your academic representative, I will work directly with the teaching staff to find out ways to enhance your academic experience, including labs, e-modules, and exams.

If elected, I hope to:

Tackle academic issues through tutorial sessions, where you can learn both by teaching and hearing from others;
Produce study plans and revision materials to help you with exams;
Work with teaching staff and representatives from other year groups to provide Q&A sessions;
Organise talks, conferences, and workshops to grow our network and gain valuable skills and insights into BMB careers.

I am eager to listen to your problems with an open mind and help you with diligence and commitment. It is my responsibility to make sure your voice will be heard. With a keen interest in education and a passion to help others, I would love the opportunity to make positive changes to our course. Vote for me!!
