Design Engineering (UG): Year One Academic Representative

Hi everyone, I'm Chiara!

I'm running to be your Student Academic Rep because I want to represent our needs and make sure every voice is heard. My friends would describe me as organised, a bit perfectionist -which might actually be a flaw at times, and easy to talk to.

Having already completed a year of Mechanical Engineering at university before switching to Design Engineering, I understand the pressure and stress that comes with living abroad and starting a new course in a completely different environment than high school. Thanks to this experience, I believe I bring valuable insight that will benefit us all. I understand the struggles of navigating a demanding course, and having personally acquired most of the mathematics, physics, computing and material science year 1 knowledge, I am determined to support all of you :)

Keys things I'm committed to as a student rep :

I'll make sure your concerns, suggestions and questions are bought to the department and addressed properly. Whether it's coursework or resources, I'll try my best bridging the gap between us and our lecturers.
As we go through lectures, I won't hesitate to ask you for any feedback and report this to the lecturers for any possible improvement making the class even more valuable and enjoyable.
Being a relatively small course, I want to help create a close-knit class where we all support each other both academically and socially.
