Earth Science & Engineering (UG): Year Two Wellbeing Representative

Hi all, I'm Jason a 2nd year Geologist and your wellbeing representative from last year rerunning again for this year!

Wellbeing is such an important aspect of our studies and being able to address concerns to the department over mental health, financial concerns, personal safety and inclusivity felt really impactful and beneficial to the wider year group. Last year, I requested the department to make financial support more accessible to students via emails, managed to encourage transport after long fieldtrips back to both Acton and not just South Ken, highlighted concerns with Surface Processes which helped contribute to moderation of the module, supported the implementation of events in ESE and RSM that shifted away from just drinking to more inclusive events such as the collab with DogSoc, as well as making those surveys and presenting your feedback from modules to the Senior Tutors so lecturers could add more information/take more time over content to benefit the group at large.

I would love to continue to provide that supportive role and represent all of your voices to the department, where you can approach me anytime with whatever query you want raised at meetings, and I encourage anyone with a problem to speak with Anita our wellbeing advisor, or I can guide you to the resources that Imperial provides to help students, as balancing work and social life is so crucial to enjoying the student life here at Imperial.

Thank you for reading!
