Hi guys! My name is Fiona and I'm running for the position of Wellbeing Rep for DE1 this year.

Four years ago, I came to the UK from Shanghai at the peak of Covid. With quarantine regulations in place, I couldn't return home to my family for a whole year. Living on my own taught me the importance of taking care of my wellbeing and I learnt firsthand how crucial it is for happiness as well as academic growth. As rep, I am committed to advocating for our year and making sure our voices on wellbeing matters are heard in the department.

Key aims:

1. Academic Wellbeing: I will collect feedback from the cohort on academic related wellbeing issues such as work life balance, exam stress, and work with departmental leaders to make changes or provide help through the use of college resources.

2. Diversity and Equality: I strive to ensure that students of different backgrounds and identities feel comfortable and represented in the department. This includes providing support to anyone who faces unfair discrimination or mistreatment.

3. Mental Health: I aim to promote mental health related initiatives and ensure that resources are available and made aware to those in need.

I am here to listen to any concerns and suggestions and I hope that together we can make make the department a safe and happy space for everyone!
