Hey CGCU!

I’m Vivaan Gupta, a second-year B.Eng Computing student from India, and I’m running for your CGCU Events Officer. Having been an active member of CGCU over the past year, I’ve experienced firsthand the power of a vibrant and collaborative engineering community, and I’m eager to contribute even more!

Why me?
I have experience organizing both academic and non-academic events, leading my high-school tech-club and co-leading the Google Developer Group on campus this year. Just this week, we hosted a GDG kickoff event that brought over 300 attendees! These experiences have taught me how to put together engaging, successful events that are not only fun but also meaningful. I’ve got the passion to bring that energy to CGCU.

What will I do as your Events Officer?
I want to organize events that make our community stronger, more connected, and more skilled. Here’s a glimpse of what I have in mind:

• Cross-Departmental Hackathons – A chance for students from different engineering disciplines to come together, share knowledge, and solve problems creatively.
• Networking Events – Partnering with companies from the industry, giving you direct access to potential internships, jobs, and advice from professionals.
• Socials & Fun Events – Whether it’s a boat party or an evening out, we need opportunities to unwind and bond as a community.
• Chill Hobby Activities – Think low-key events like board game nights or art sessions for when you just want to relax and recharge.
