Dear ICSM Cardiovascular Society members,

I am excited to apply for the position of Head of Promotions, bringing a strong foundation in organisational and teamwork skills honed most recently through my roles as a Fresher on Committee last year, and now, Social Secretary of ICSM Music Society. This experience has given me valuable insight into how committees operate, as well as the level of commitment and coordination required to make societal events a success. From organising a summer climbing social to the recent and successful FPR, I have developed the ability to plan, promote, and deliver events that are fun, well-attended and memorable.

Effective promotions are about more than just spreading the word. I believe they require a thoughtful design and clear layout. A message, or poster, should be concise, eye-catching, and impossible to ignore. For example, Whatsapp chats receive so many promotional messages, so making sure your message has all the details, links and, most importantly, being the one that sticks out from the crowd, is challenging yet so important for an event to be successful! Additionally, timing is key. Promoting events early and regularly is essential to ensuring high turnout and success.

As Head of Promotions, I will ensure that Cardiovascular Society events are communicated in a way that attracts attention and gains participation. I am committed to working closely with the committee to create and promote exciting events!
