Hey, I’m Sajanika and I am running for the position of Cardio BSc Representative.

As the current Cohort social representative, I have had the opportunity to connect with everyone individually, giving me a better understanding of the collective needs and interests.

My ideas include:

• Smoothening the transition from Year 3 to Year 4.
  
  • Creating a BSc Handbook with tips on excelling in this year.
    • Liaising with the Cardio BSc faculty to create a handbook that applies to the individual needs of the Cardio BSc. This would include tips on how to do well in journal club, debates and even tips on critically appraising a paper from the faculty leads themselves.
  • Organise in-person meetings for incoming and current BSc Year 4 students to create an open space for any questions about the course and for guidance on completing assessments. This would act as a mentorship scheme for students throughout their time at university and career.
• Creating a centralised digital platform.
  • Currently, there's not much available on the ICSMSU Notebank to help the cardiovascular BSc students. I aim to develop an online platform for students to access all resources, announcements, deadlines, and social events in one place. This will make it easier to stay informed and connected whether you're an internal or external student.
• Create a research platform, encouraging students to get involved in cardiovascular research earlier.
