Laura Shaw

Hello, my name is Laura, and I’m a 1st-year Electrical Engineering student. I’m excited to run for Procurement Officer because I believe I can contribute significantly to the Robotics Society and help it reach its full potential.

I would accomplish this by: creating a Discord channel for asking questions anonymously, so people can feel more comfortable asking for help; co-ordinating with the events team to plan events which encourage non electrical engineering students to apply their expertise to robotics and events that embrace traditionally feminine notions (for example: a workshop to 3D print accessories); and online forms for members to request new consumables/lab equipment paired with insightful feedback on whether it will or won’t be accepted.

I plan to achieve these by setting up an anonymous Discord channel for questions, coordinating with the events team to involve students from various fields, and introducing online forms for requesting consumables with transparent feedback.

My experience makes me a strong candidate. I serve on the board of the Luxembourgish Informatics Olympiad, where I’ve organized programming bootcamps and lectures. I also designed and taught a programming course at my high school, gaining valuable skills in leadership and education.

I’m asking for your vote because my experience shows my dedication, and my plans reflect my passion for robotics and STEM.
